Following the success of the Modena 360, the 2005 Ferrari F430 is a rather fitting replacement. The Ferrari F430 is the V8 engine successor to the Modena but is a vast improvement in many areas. Thanks to the efforts of the research team from the Formula 1 division of racing, the Ferrari F430 is one of the finest road going Ferraris to bless the streets.

The body style proves that Ferrari can still roll out the best. The new features include dual air intakes that move air directly into the radiator. This means a more efficient system for cooling and a higher level of performance with the newly cooled engine. A nice rear spoiler helps to move the air under the car to the completely flat underbody, which helps to prevent drag and also offers some extra cooling for the engine. Large wheel arches make the air in the Ferrari F430 circulate out of the engine compartment and down the sides of the body to cut down on the side drag that has been a problem with previous models.

The engine that the Ferrari F430 is hiding under the hood is a completely new design that borrowed nothing from any previous year of Ferrari. The engine sits at a ninety degree angle and features a new design in the crank shaft with the flat pan, adding power to the grace. The engine height was cut dramatically and the increase of weight is barely noticeable. Over 340 pounds of torque becomes available earlier in the cycle. The engine is a compact design with just over one hundred millimeters between the cylinders.

For increased handling, the Ferrari F430 features the E-DIFF, or electronic differential. Used for a long time by the cars on the Formula 1 circuit this feature allows for torque to be shifted where it is needed most and allows the driver to enjoy a level of increased handling that has never before been used. The E-DIFF makes the Ferrari F430 grip the road, increasing the speed and moving the wind around the car at a much better rate than found on previous models.

The Ferrari F430 allows for two types of shifting depending on the purchase price. If you feel the need for speed than you can go with the Formula 1 paddle shift version that is closely related to the automatic transmission or you can have the six speed manual with aluminum gear box installed.
