Ferrari 550

In the proud tradition of sports cars, the Ferrari 550 is a model to end all models. Like all other cars made by the fabled Italian auto maker the Ferrari 550 is a limited edition. Only 448 Ferrari 550 models were produced, one of the lowest of any model produced. This in essence has made it one of the rarest of all Ferrari models and one hot commodity. The Ferrari 550 has made waves with the fans and is continuing to be one of the more highly sought after Ferraris.

Going back to their roots, the Ferrari 550 is front engine packing the powerful V12. The car screams down the street with 485 horsepower and the muscle to back it up. The Ferrari 550 is a sight to see as it moves fluidly down the road, responding to the drivers every request without the slightest hesitation.

The aerodynamic body design was exhaustingly tested to ensure that it produced minimal drag and maximum down force. Using the wind tunnel testing method, the Ferrari 550 passed with flying colors. The new body design has also added some increased stability and handling with the new under tray. This is an innovative concept that can only be found on the Ferrari 550 model.

The suspension system on the Ferrari 550 lost some of its weight and gained a hair turn touch. This is in contrast to some of the previous models that required the weight in the suspension to provide the one of a kind Ferrari handling. This car will corner like it is on rails and make anyone sit back in their seat when it does.

The engine was strengthened thanks to the use of titanium connecting rods that are perfect for sustained periods of high speed driving. Four hundred twenty pounds of torque make the Ferrari 550 a maximum power machine. A touch of the peddle and you are thrown back in your seat then make you beg for more.

The success of the Ferrari 550 has bought to light the need for some more front engine cars from Italy. There are some more in the works but nothing yet has been announced by the company. Most would agree that it would be a wise move for the company to continue looking into the front motor design as it is wildly popular with the customers. The next generation of Ferrari very well may be the front motored style from days long past.
